The bride’s headdress should match the kind of wedding she is going to have or match the theme of her wedding. A tiara would match a wedding that had a princess or fairytale theme. A veil would be the traditional bridal look. Some brides choose to wear flowers in their hair instead of a veil or tiara.
A floral headdress pairs well with a natural themed wedding. Outdoor weddings always pair well with flowers in the bride’s hair. Garden weddings, beach weddings, or other outdoor venues are beautiful wedding settings and a flower headdress would be a perfect match.
What kind of flowers should you choose? Here are some great flowers to choose from:
- White Roses
- Orchids (especially great for a beach wedding)
- Baby’s Breath
- Light Pink Roses
- Ask your florist for seasonal suggestions
More tips:
- Make sure that the flowers in your hair match your bouquet and the rest of the flower arrangements and decorations at your wedding. Having mix-matched arrangements will be a distraction away from the beauty of your wedding.
- Keep flowers refrigerated as long as possible before the ceremony.
- Unless you have arranged flowers before, hire a professional florist for your wedding. Flowers are one of the most important decorations in your wedding. Beautiful flowers = Beautiful wedding. Designing floral arrangements and putting them together can take many hours even with a team of people and will make your fingers stained green. Mishandling the flowers can cause them to wilt before the ceremony.
- Tell your hairstylist if you plan to include flowers in your hair in advance. Bring a picture of the hairstyle you want to your cosmetologist.

For my wedding, I got my bridal bouquet from Floral Expressions. They did an excellent job! I called Floral Expressions only after receiving my flowers from another florist that gave me the wrong bouquet. I called the florist that gave me the wrong bouquet and they would not answer their phone. That’s when I called Floral Expressions and explained to them what happened. They rushed me the right bouquet in time to take my pre-ceremony pictures! I should have gone with Floral Expressions to begin with, as they came highly recommended to me. Thanks Floral Expressions for saving the day! http://www.floralexpressionsflorist.com/
